How Early Should You Arrive for a Photoshoot?

For the best frames, plan to be at your location at least 45 minutes before balloon launch. While the balloons are still being inflated — flames bursting into the dark, silhouettes slowly rising — the light is in its blue hour and the contrast is at its most dramatic.

Arriving late means joining a scene that has already peaked. You will still capture beautiful images, but that first ten minutes — when the sky belongs only to the balloons and the silence — cannot be recreated.

• 90 minutes before launch: Wake up, eat something light, have a warm drink.

Do Balloons Fly Every Day?

No. Cappadocia balloon flights are subject to wind speed and visibility thresholds set by civil aviation authorities. When wind exceeds approximately 7 m/s or visibility drops, flights are cancelled. Across most of the year this is relatively rare, but January and February carry a higher cancellation rate.

We recommend planning a minimum of 3 nights in Cappadocia — this gives you enough flexibility to guarantee at least one clear balloon morning regardless of conditions.
