Ayse and Deniz: A Journey Across Generations

When Deniz sent us her first message, her excitement was palpable even in text. "My mother and I are coming to Cappadocia. It will be her 60th birthday gift. But I do not want just a photoshoot — I want us to experience something together," she wrote. Deniz is a 32-year-old architect living in Izmir. Her mother, Ayse Hanim, is a retired teacher. They had been planning to travel together for years, but life always got in the way.

When we met them at their hotel in Goreme, Ayse Hanim's first words were: "My daughter spent three months convincing me to do a photoshoot. I have never liked being in front of a camera." We smiled.
